She died last year at 93..She fell out of her wheelchair and broke her neck on the way to lunch bunch...she was clear minded..but impatient. Her hairstyle looks just like your mother's. Your story is lovely as is the quilt. My mother never sewed..She was a poet. Not many people have a mother named Alice...hugs to you. I love the happy yellow in this quilt. Enjoy your memories.O'Quiltshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15350950712546652314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2395321918392915526.post-35521565584541013002015-11-13T10:52:36.034-05:002015-11-13T10:52:36.034-05:00Wonderful tribute. Adding fabrics would make it the most durable and may add to it's character and story for future generations. And you may be able to find some true vintage fabrics that are similar.Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00546043492549930952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2395321918392915526.post-6097999034835080192015-11-13T08:25:28.229-05:002015-11-13T08:25:28.229-05:00Don't know what fabric and quilt experts would...Don't know what fabric and quilt experts would advise, but I'd want to keep it as original as possible. It's not going to be for use, just show, right? I'd probably take some chiffon or sturdy organza and sandwich those deteriorated pieces within that. Keeps the original fabric but still holds the pieces together.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14835393634763024001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2395321918392915526.post-77494272710942491492015-11-13T07:05:36.266-05:002015-11-13T07:05:36.266-05:00What a wonderful story Judy…….such good memories…....What a wonderful story Judy…….such good memories….The Inside Storihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00984299652568523595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2395321918392915526.post-67057313256215330132015-11-12T18:51:22.261-05:002015-11-12T18:51:22.261-05:00What a lovely post and honor to your mother!
